Our Client

Our client is an international B2B supply chain management SME based in Northamptonshire.

They are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to maintain the company’s finances and manage the finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance looking for a more strategic and operational role, whilst still happy to be involved in monthly reporting etc.

Head of Finance - The Role

As Head of Finance, you will be an experienced hands-on accountant and have the commercial awareness to assist the company with its growth and implement change.

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead the finance function, taking responsibility for all aspects of financial management;
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts pack and provide insightful analysis;
  • Produce and monitor forecasts and budgets;
  • Monitoring cash and prepare cash flow forecasts;
  • Provide strategic and financial support to the directors;
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance for all jurisdictions;
  • Lead the due diligence process on potential acquisitions;
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory financial compliance requirements are met;
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with key stakeholders including auditors, insurance brokers and HMRC.

The Successful Applicant

As Head of Finance, you will most likely be a qualified accountant, ideally with a successful track record in an owner-managed SME. You will be intelligent, commercially focused, and excited by the prospect of joining a small aspirational business. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take a step up to lead a finance team with the opportunity of progressing to Finance Director.

Requirements include:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified;
  • Experience of streamlining financial processes and creating financial models;
  • Experience of working in an SME;
  • Supply chain management experience desirable;
  • International exposure, US & Europe desirable;
  • Strong Excel skills (vlook-up, pivot tables etc);
  • Excellent communicator and a strong team player;
  • Can do attitude to problem solving;
  • Attention to detail and personal ownership.
