Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting for an Operations Director to join a global manufacturing organisation. The role will be leading large teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical, whilst working closely with the Supply Chain and Commercial functions. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Driving a culture of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Working closely with Unions to boost employee engagement and bring about positive cultural change.
  • Ensuring smooth and on-time customer delivery, directly interacting with customers when needed.
  • Managing large budgets effectively, ensuring smart spending across all site operations.
  • Overseeing CAPEX and revenue schemes, making sure they’re accurate, justified, and prioritized correctly.
  • Ensuring manufacturing is supported by a comprehensive maintenance strategy.
  • Owning the QHSE strategy, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards and driving major accident prevention.
  • Making sure our company vision and values are clear and understood by everyone.
  • Building and rolling out training programs that help employees grow and develop.
  • Ensuring we have the right resources and systems to maintain a competent workforce.
  • Driving an annual program to boost process capability, quality, and performance.
  • Managing projects and ensuring they stay on time and within budget.
  • Developing a long-term business strategy for the site.

What We’re Looking For:

We want a strong leader who can help build a high-performing, engaged, and safety-conscious team. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A degree in Engineering or a Technical discipline (MBA is desired)
  • Proven experience in leading change in a complex environment
  • Senior leadership experience in a Unionised environment
  • Full budgetary responsibility for a site with over £100m+ turnover
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
  • The ability to solve complex challenges and deliver results
  • Experience in Heavy Industry preferable
  • Strong leadership & communication skills
  • Confidence in decision-making and the ability to influence at all levels
  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
  • A high level of energy, drive, and resilience
