Interim Senior Estates & Valuation Surveyor

Location: Cheshire (Hybrid Working)

Contract: Interim/Ongoing (Inside IR35)

Day Rate: Inside IR35 - Circa £400 per day (Negotiable)

Our client, a local authority in Cheshire, is seeking an Interim Senior Estates & Valuation Surveyor to provide specialist estates and valuation expertise within their Property & Estate Management Service. This role will focus on asset management, high-level valuation work, and property strategy to ensure the effective and efficient management of the Council's property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Council's Asset Management Plan, ensuring optimal use of the property portfolio.
  • Undertake high-level valuation work, including acquisitions, disposals, and property management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of the Council's land and property portfolio, implementing outcomes to meet strategic objectives.
  • Act as the key liaison with internal clients and services, ensuring property solutions align with operational needs.
  • Develop and implement plans to enhance property utilisation, improving efficiency and service delivery.
  • Lead and manage property projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with council objectives.
  • Provide professional valuation and property management services, including land disposals, acquisitions, statutory valuations, and compulsory purchase orders (CPOs).
  • Represent the Estates & Valuation Team at meetings, offering expert advice on property-related matters.

Requirements

  • MRICS qualified surveyor with significant experience in estates management and property valuation.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management, valuation, acquisitions, and disposals within a local government or public sector setting.
  • Experience in strategic property reviews and implementing asset optimisation strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across services and partners.
  • Strong understanding of property legislation, valuation principles, and best practice estate management.
