My client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Director to join their leadership team. This role involves overseeing a sales division comprising field-based Account Managers and Consultants. The primary goal is to drive revenue growth, expand their customer base, and increase customer value by effectively coaching and guiding sales managers to excel in their roles.

They are one of the fastest growing businesses in their field of expertise and they are seeking to further expand their market presence and drive revenue growth across various sectors. They look to empower their clients with innovative solutions and services to enhance their business performance and achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies by analysing company and individual performance data to inform decision-making. Identify growth opportunities within a competitive market and create plans to capitalise on them.
  • Lead by example, leveraging personal sales success to inspire and motivate the team.
  • Embrace technology to streamline sales processes and enhance productivity.
  • Communicate goals, expectations, and feedback effectively to the team. Maintain high standards of customer relations to foster goodwill with clients.
  • Work with the executive management team to drive revenue growth and ensure robust sales performance. Participate in key sales leadership forums and commercial working groups to contribute to overall strategy and share best practices.
  • Maximise marketing spend within assigned categories by analysing products, solutions, and market share to ensure efficiency. Develop new revenue streams and advocate for these initiatives both internally and through networking with key stakeholders.
  • Lead efforts to increase unique customer count through effective territory management and innovative marketing strategies. Engage in direct sales calls or appointments with key accounts to build and maintain relationships, aiming to increase revenue.
  • Manage day-to-day sales operations, exemplify best practices, and use this expertise to motivate and develop team members.
  • Provide Sales Managers with performance plans and goals to facilitate the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and skills through coaching and support.
  • Adapt to the evolving industry landscape and business requirements, demonstrating problem-solving abilities and implementing necessary improvements. Be open to new ideas, technologies, and methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven track record in leading B2B sales initiatives, particularly within the East Anglian region.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and make informed decisions.
