This is a brilliant opportunity to join a growing Shared Service Centre in a business that’s getting bigger, better, and more forward-thinking. The finance function is evolving, and this newly created role offers the chance to shape your own path while helping to drive improvement and efficiency across reporting and controls.
You’ll join a business that genuinely values work-life balance – no long hours, early finishes every Friday, flexible start/finish times, and great benefits. It’s a supportive, collaborative team where people are encouraged to share ideas, challenge the norm, and grow professionally.
What’s the role?
Reporting to an experienced Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process and play a key role in supporting continuous improvement across finance systems and processes. You’ll also support and mentor a small team of Assistant Management Accountants (based in Nottingham) – and while leadership experience is welcome, it’s not essential. If you’re ready to take that next step, you’ll be supported all the way.
There’s also opportunity to get stuck into group-wide projects, systems transformation, and year-end activity – plenty of variety, with the stability of a strong, well-established team around you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the production of monthly management accounts
- Reviewing and improving accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting
- Supporting and developing junior finance team members
- Preparing VAT returns and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Partnering with divisional finance and business teams across the group
- Supporting external audit, year-end reporting, and ad hoc project work
- Playing a key role in the ongoing development of the Shared Service Centre
What you’ll need:
- Fully qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with strong management accounting experience
- Proactive, collaborative, and confident communicating with stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, comfortable working to tight deadlines
- Keen to improve how things are done and get involved in change
- Team management experience welcome – but if you’re ready to step into a leadership role, that works too
Why this role?
- Brand-new role due to growth – shape it as your own
- Early Friday finish and no long-hours culture
- Flexible hours and hybrid working (3 days on site)
- Fast-moving, supportive, and people-first environment
- Big focus on learning and development
- Visibility across the wider group with real progression potential
A few of the standout benefits:
- 10% annual bonus
- 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays (with the option to buy 5 more)
- Life assurance (3x salary)
- Share save scheme
- Cycle to work and EV car scheme
- Retail discounts, gym deals, tech savings (HP, EE, and more)
- Free onsite parking and excellent public transport links
If you’re looking for a broad, progressive finance role in a genuinely supportive business that values its people—this could be your perfect next step.
