Assistant Secretary to Pension Trustees

Salary £30,000 - £40,000 dep on exp + benefits

My client provides professional independent trusteeship and associated governance services to a wide range of occupational pension schemes. Over more than 30 years in business, they have built up an outstanding track record in delivering great outcomes for members and sponsors by being focused on just those services. They now have an exciting opportunity for an individual who has more than 1 years’ experience working within a Pensions environment.

Purpose of the Role

  • Support the efficient and timely delivery of Secretarial and Governance services to clients on schemes where appointed as Scheme Secretary or where supporting the lead Secretary.
  • Provide support to the lead Secretaries on the larger clients, acting as a second point of contact to the Trustees and other key stakeholders.
  • Take the lead role on an allocation of clients, depending on scheme size and complexity.
  • When required, represent the Company and the Secretarial team at Trustee meetings, client review meetings, and any other client related meetings, on schemes where appointed as Scheme Secretary or where supporting the lead Secretary.
  • Liaise with Trustee advisers and suppliers to support the timely delivery of advice and meeting papers.
  • Where required, act as cover and point of contact on schemes and client related projects on the Secretarial and Support team.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 1 years’ experience in the pensions industry, ideally now at or working towards a Senior Pensions Administration level, or in a Scheme Secretarial role.
  • A good knowledge of UK occupational pension schemes (DB, DC, or Hybrid), including the role of trustees and sponsors.
  • Ability / willingness to develop skills and knowledge required to lead on secretarial appointments.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and carry out tasks within deadlines

  • Ability to manage time effectively and ensure delivery of services to prescribed deadlines and following necessary processes.

  • Good project management skills
