LTF Recruitment is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Pastoral Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school located in Nottingham. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to work closely with the school's pastoral lead to create a supportive and positive learning environment.

Job Role: Support the pastoral manager with creating a positive learning environment for students, building positive relationships and working to improve behaviours & attendance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pastoral lead to improve student behaviours and attendance
  • Provide targeted support within the classroom to students facing social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) challenges
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions with students to address specific pastoral concerns
  • Respond to on-call support requests as part of the pastoral team
  • Regularly review and adjust educational plans based on ongoing assessments and progress monitoring
  • Complete risk assessments for students to ensure a safe and supportive environment
  • Develop positive relationships with students to encourage positive behaviours

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a pastoral or similar role within a school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in supporting students effectively
  • Passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential
