Are you interested in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children going through the family justice system?

If so, we are supporting CAFCASS to recruit for a family court adviser for their Nottingham office.


About the role:
Cafcass represents children in family court cases in England, independently advising the family courts about what is safe for children and in their best interests. We put their needs, wishes and feelings first, making sure that children's voices are heard at the heart of the family court setting.


Responsibilities include:

  • ??To provide high quality early safeguarding and child protection advice, assessments and analysis to the Court on the needs and best interests of children subject to or involved in Family Proceedings.
  • ?To ensure that the well-being and safety of the child is paramount throughout Cafcass' involvement in the case.
  • ?To ensure that all incidents or risks of significant harm to the child are dealt with in accordance with the relevant Local Safeguarding Children's Board (LSCB) procedures and Cafcass policies and procedures.
  • ?To directly work with, or on behalf of children & families to achieve safe and positive outcomes for children, referring to other services where this will produce benefit.
  • ??As the largest employer of Social Workers in England, Cafcass understands the challenges and rewards of being a Social Worker and fully supports its staff to work flexibly, proportionally and safely to achieve the best outcomes for children and families, whilst providing a healthy work life balance.


Minimum Requirements:

  • SWE Registration
  • 5 year post qualifying experience within UK Social Care industry
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
