We are seeking a proactive and skilled Head of Maintenance to oversee and enhance the maintenance of our beautiful resort and lead the maintenance team to success. Nestled on a large estate, our property features a 69-room hotel, 49 lodges, extensive grounds, and versatile event spaces. With diverse facilities and a focus on guest satisfaction, this is a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards across the resort.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be adept at maintaining various systems within our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

This role is full time, 5 shifts out of 7, Monday to Sunday inclusive, and will suit a knowledgeable, confident, maintenance person who can communicate well with others, has a can-do attitude and who will enjoy working as part of a dedicated and hardworking team. If this sounds like you, read on!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance and ensure all equipment and systems function effectively.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and emergency breakdowns.
  • Lead and train a proactive and knowledgeable maintenance team.
  • React promptly to plant or equipment breakdowns, including out-of-hours emergencies.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, creating a safe environment for staff and guests.
  • Collaborate on projects and implement improvements to guest and operational facilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors and manage budgets for cost-effective maintenance solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on high standards.
  • Relevant qualifications in building maintenance or a related field and must have trade qualifications.
  • Must have current and clean driving licence
  • Experience in maintenance, ideally within a hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and flexibility to handle changing priorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining health and safety regulations and ensuring a smooth guest experience.
