Our client, a Business Recovery / Insolvency practice based in Oldham, is looking for a new Full time Accounts Assistant to join their growing team.

This role will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in Insolvency Accounting and already has some experience in all-round bookkeeping/accounting either through hands on experience or a qualification such as an A level or degree in Accountancy. Full training will be provided and a study support package is on offer too, for AAT/ACCA or an equivalent qualifications.

The role will join a small pre-appointment team of 5 staff in a 15 people practice. They use a bespoke accounting software so full training will be given. There may be occasional visits to clients premises so a car will be essential.

Assignment Details

  • Day to day bookkeeping
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Insolvency work
  • Processing invoices
  • Recording receipts and payments
  • Preparing and checking ledger balances
  • To communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with clients
  • Client record keeping
  • Other duties consistent with the grade as directed.

Skills required

  • Previous bookkeeping / accounting experience is essential , either hands on or via qualifications ( A level Accounting / Degree in finance )
  • Good General IT skills - MS word, excel, email, social media etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisation and time management to ensure deadlines are met
  • Able to work on your own as well as part of the team (given guidance)
  • Plenty of common sense
  • Ability to work well under pressure
