The Senior Financial Accountant will be the main point of contact for external auditors in relation to costs for an ongoing exciting construction / engineering project. You'll act as the representative for the company with the auditors, taking an active role in supporting with queries and identifying areas for improvement.

Description

The Senior Financial Accountant will be the main point of contact for external auditors in relation to costs for an ongoing exciting construction / engineering project. You'll act as the representative for the company with the auditors, taking an active role in supporting with queries and identifying areas for improvement. Representing the company in meetings with auditors. Your role will include:

  • Taking a hands-on / roll sleeves up approach to obtaining audit evidence (gathering invoices/PO's, etc)
  • Identifying areas of improvement and reporting to the Finance Director to ensure that weaknesses identified in the audit are corrected for future
  • Managing / supporting a small team (1 or 2 direct reports)

Profile

  • CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Confidence to liaise with external auditors to present information and push back as appropriate
  • Ability to lead a small team

Although not essential, knowledge of construction contracts and / or an understanding of contract terminology (defined cost, allowable / non-allowable costs) would be highly advantageous.

Job Offer

  • Permanent role, full time hours
  • Salary in the region of £55,000 to £65,000, level dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working options - 3 days per week in the offices combined with working from home
