Guttercrest Ltd are currently seeking a CAD Technician to join our manufacturing and design team. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy, co-dependant team with a variety of skills and talents. Your primary role will be to produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for various building elements from facades and building envelope systems to coping systems and eaves detail drawings. Our ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be driven and keen to progress.

As a CAD Technician your duties and responsibilities will include:

Producing designs and drawings on time, ensuring that manufacturing and cost constraints can be satisfied.

Conducting design analysis to ensure functionality, efficiency, and adherence to standards and regulations

Liaising with customers, architects and designers to understand the design requirements and providing technical advice to manufacturing and construction technicians with the support of the team.

Required Skills and Abilities

Fully conversant with CAD systems / CAD methodology, we are a user of Autodesk products including AutoCAD and Inventor but we have several other CAD and CAM systems available.

Have a proven track record in design.

Relevant degree or NVQ is highly desirable.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and design software.

Have good written and numeracy skills.

Be able to understand industry drawings from architects and engineers and subcontractors.

A practical understanding of installation methods would be helpful.

Work Environment

This position is based in Oswestry, Shropshire.The CAD Technician will be working closely with our design and project teams in a demanding, fast paced environment.

The position is Monday to Friday and office based with no remote working- you must be within commuting distance to apply
