We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our team in Oxfordshire. This role involves supporting the upkeep of the school, focusing on general maintenance, site security, and cleaning. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our students and staff.
Day-to-day of the role:- Conduct general maintenance tasks and repairs throughout the school premises.
- Ensure the security of the school site during and after school hours.
- Perform cleaning duties as required, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Handle and use hazardous materials safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and COSHH standards.
- Assist in manual handling tasks and ensure proper storage and maintenance of school equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests and issues promptly, providing solutions to ensure minimal disruption to school activities.
- Support the Facilities Manager in routine inspections and safety audits.
- Experience in general maintenance, preferably within a school environment.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and cleanliness standards.
- Experience handling and using hazardous materials (COSHH).
- Manual handling experience.
- Apprenticeship, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in cleaning or a relevant trade is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
