Interim People Manager - Fixed Term Contract for six months

Our higher education institution client is currently seeking an Interim People Manager with a focus on employee relations, to cover a  busy period, for six months on a fixed-term basis. 

Location: Office near Oxford (1 day/week on-site - remainder from home)Duration: 6 months, with potential for extensionSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annumBenefits: 38 days annual leave (pro rata), a generous pension scheme, opportunities for professional development and training, a collaborative and inclusive work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead for all employee relations matters within your assigned client area.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues through effective conflict resolution, grievance, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Design and implement employee relations strategies in line with our goals.
  • Advise on HR policies and ensure their fair and consistent enforcement.
  • Promote a positive work environment and high employee engagement.
  • Deliver training on employee relations and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing employee relations is essential.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Higher education experience is preferred but not essential.
