My client are currently seeking a Senior Town Planner to join our talented team. This role is ideal for an experienced planner looking to take the next step in their career, with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of planning strategies that align with client goals, local planning frameworks, and national regulations.
  • Project Leadership: Manage and coordinate planning projects from concept to completion, ensuring that all projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Development Proposals: Prepare and submit high-quality planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and ensuring their objectives are met through tailored planning solutions.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders to facilitate positive outcomes for planning applications and development projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not essential.
  • Professional Accreditation: Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning role, with a proven track record in managing complex planning projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of UK planning regulations and policy frameworks.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
    • Proficient in planning software and tools, with experience in GIS and design software being advantageous.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • A proactive and client-focused approach, with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
