Head of Procurement required for my client who work within the automotive and manufacturing industry, based in Peterborough.
The company are looking for a head of procurement that can manager supplier relationships to ensure the acquisition of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
The successful candidate will drive cost savings, improve supplier performance and support the company's growth and innovation objectives.
Head of Procurement Job Overview
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, both domestic and international, to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
- Lead, mentor and develop a small purchasing team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production and other departments to support new product development and other projects.
Head of Procurement Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation and cost management.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough.
Head of Procurement Salary & Benefits
- Salary - 35,000 to 40,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
- 42.5 hours a week - Monday to Friday position.
- Holiday package - 28 days including bank holidays.
