About the role:

In this role, you will be working with students who have Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties (SLD), helping them develop essential life skills, employability skills, and personal development. You will play a key part in ensuring our students are fully prepared for the next steps in their lives, whether that be further education, employment, or independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with SLD, providing tailored learning to help them develop skills for adulthood.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to thrive.
  • Develop employability and life skills across all levels, helping students gain the confidence to achieve their personal goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure a high standard of learning and support.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to ensure students receive the help they need to succeed.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience in SEN: Applicants should have demonstrable experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
  • Qualifications: A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths is required. A teaching qualification of at least Level 3 is essential for this role.
  • Personal Attributes: A positive outlook, a proactive, "can-do" approach, and the ability to adapt and be flexible at short notice.
  • Teamwork and Problem-Solving: A strong sense of teamwork, the ability to think creatively to solve challenges, and the ability to support and encourage both students and colleagues.
  • Additional Training: The successful candidate will be required to complete additional training in epilepsy management, including administering emergency medication.
