COOMBES is a leading Arboricultural and Forestry Contractor, with over twenty years’ experience in the Forestry sector. We have forged a strong industry reputation and we believe we have an unrivalled skill set and expertise in forestry work at all levels.

We also play a key role within the Rail industry, providing a whole manner of off-track solutions and minor civils works, in partnership with Network Rail and other major contractors.

Due to recent significant successes in Bids and tender processes, we have some exciting projects underway and the company is growing across all areas of the business.  To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced Recruiter to source skilled and experienced colleagues, in a range of disciplines, to enhance our business and help us provide a service that is second to none.

The Role:

The Recruitment Officer will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet COOMBES workforce needs. This role requires a strong understanding of hiring practices and the ability to create and maintain a talent pipeline. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, an eye for talent, and the ability to work under pressure to meet hiring deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Talent Sourcing & Acquisition: Identify and engage potential candidates through a variety of sourcing techniques such as job boards, social media, employee referrals, and networking events.
  • Candidate Screening: Review resumes, applications, and conduct initial interviews to assess qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Interview Coordination: Schedule and facilitate interviews with hiring managers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Employer Branding: Promote the organization’s employer brand by enhancing the candidate experience and showcasing the company's culture and values.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a pool of qualified candidates for future hiring needs through proactive talent acquisition efforts.
  • Offer Management: Assist in negotiating job offers, working closely with the HR team to ensure competitive and fair compensation packages.
  • Compliance: Ensure recruitment practices comply with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyse recruitment metrics to assess the efficiency of recruitment processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, understanding their hiring needs and providing timely recruitment support.
