Sonic Summary

Summer-Browning Associates are seeking two DevOps Engineers for an initial 6-month assignment in Plymouth or other main UK hubs, with a hybrid work model.
The role is part of the IT Operations Practice within the Digital, Data and Technology directorate, focusing on technical infrastructure performance and delivery.
Candidates should have recent DevOps Engineer experience, particularly with AWS services such as Lakeformation, Glue, Athena, Sagemaker, and API Gateway.
Strong programming skills in languages like Groovy, Python, Java, or Go, along with hands-on experience using Terraform, are essential.
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience and offers a salary of £500-£600 per day.

Summer-Browning Associates are supporting our client within the Public Sector on x2 DevOps Engineer positions, on an initial 6 month assignment

Location: Plymouth (preferred) / any main hub UK locations (hybrid)

About the role: part of the IT Operations Practice which sits within the Digital, Data and Technology directorate whose responsibility is for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure which, underpins and supports the organisation. It consists of technical teams which provide support, monitor and operate technical solutions. This role is to provide technical engineering capability for the Web Operations team, responsible for supporting production systems and working with Agile development teams to delivery new services in a highly available and supportable configuration using DevOps processes and tooling providing.

Minimum essential requirements: The ideal candidates will have recent experience as a DevOps Engineer, coming from a Software Development background. Applicants MUST BE able to demonstrate experience with lakeformation, Glue, Athena, Sagemaker and API Gateway.

Strong experience of AWS API Gateway supporting the development of RESTful APIs, Sagemaker Studio, Lambda
AWS data services such as ElastiCache (Redis), Glue, SQS, Athena and Kafka
Experience in working in DevOps and Agile environments
Hands-on experience with Terraform to create, manage, and modify infrastructure
Scripting/Programming experience (e.g. Groovy, Python, Java, Go)

NB: Basic BPSS required at onboarding stage. The successful applicants MUST BE eligible for SC level vetting.
