Nursery Manager

We at Reed are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a vibrant nursery. This role is crucial in creating a safe, stimulating environment for children and guiding a dedicated team towards excellence in early years education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding Lead: Update safeguarding procedures and ensure staff compliance.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the nursery’s management, staffing, and organisation to ensure smooth operations and high-quality programme delivery.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain professional relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies like Ofsted.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all legal and statutory requirements and effectively implement operational policies.
  • Record Keeping: Manage child records, support invoicing processes, and uphold high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Activity Planning: Plan and set up daily activities that cater to children’s developmental needs, and manage curriculum planning and policy writing.
  • Staff Development: Provide guidance and training to staff and manage communications with parents and other stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Academic: GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above.
  • Experience: Proven leadership and managerial skills within an Early Years setting an advantage, however this could be the right role for someone looking to take their career to the next level.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS and ability to fully implement its requirements.
  • Inspections: Experience with Ofsted inspections and multi-agency working.
  • Certifications: Current first aid certificate and food hygiene certificate are preferable.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
