Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Package Manager/Assistant Project Manager to join their existing team in Plymouth (hybrid working) on a 12 month contract.

The Role

The Major Infrastructure Projects directorate provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for the ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As a Package Manager/Assistant Project Manager, you will work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to provide an overall sustainment capability mainly for dry dock systems. Your responsibilities will include the following but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the delivery of schedule, scope, contractual, financial and risk management functions.
  • Assisting the technical and project team in development of requirements, project scope and solutions for specific work packages.
  • Translate supply chain reporting into useable data to inform planning, monitoring and control of work packages.
  • Manage input to cost and budget monitoring.

In addition, you will also manage the risk process including the identification, assessment, planning and implementation of risks, opportunities and issues.

You

To succeed within the role of a Package Manager/Assistant Project Manager, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • A Bachelors or Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • APM project management qualification (or equivalent)
  • NEC4 Accredited Project Manager
  • Experience of working within a project environment, ideally with NEC contract experience
  • The project will be on the Nuclear Licensed site and therefore experience in delivery of Nuclear safety implicated structures, equipment or services would be of benefit

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
