Our client is an established business based in Poole. They are recruiting exclusively through Bond Williams Accounting and Finance for a Part Time Accounts Assistant to cover maternity leave for 1 year. The hours would be 22.5 per week (3 full days or to suit) and would be office based. Start mid November 2024.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a small team, you would have responsibility for:

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices, coding to nominal accounts and posting into Sage (high volume)
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigate any anomalies
  • Weekly payment runs
  • Review aged creditor reports to ensure payments are made on time
  • Oversee the email inbox for supplier and customer queries
  • Assisting with sales ledger duties - reviewing debtor reports and acting on any outstanding balances
  • Assisting with petty cash requests

Suitable Candidate

  • Previous experience of processing high volume purchase invoices and experience of working with different currencies
  • Excellent Excel skills and ideally knowledge of Sage 50
  • A min of AAT Level 2
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
