Job Summary

The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the organisation by driving integration and transformation initiatives across business units. This position requires a seasoned finance professional with a proven track record in financial management, strategic planning, integration, and leading large-scale financial transformations. The Finance Director will work closely with executive leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives, improve financial performance, and ensure operational efficiency during periods of growth and change.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of the organisation's financial strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to the executive leadership team, advising on financial performance, risk management, and growth opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors.

Integration Management

  • Lead the financial integration of acquired companies, ensuring seamless incorporation of financial systems, processes, and policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, IT, Operations) to manage the financial impact of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Develop post-acquisition integration plans that align with the organisation's financial goals and optimise financial performance.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of integrated entities to ensure expected synergies are achieved.

Transformation & Change Management

  • Spearhead financial transformation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, cost management, and financial reporting.
  • Implement best-in-class financial systems, processes, and controls to modernise the finance function.
  • Partner with IT to lead the adoption of advanced financial technologies (e.g., ERP systems, automation) to enhance data analysis, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance operations by identifying and implementing process enhancements that align with the organisation's transformation goals.
  • Manage change effectively across the finance team and broader organisation, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and minimal disruption to business operations.

Financial Operations & Risk Management

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and compliance functions.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks, including operational, market, and compliance risks.
  • Lead internal and external financial audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Implement strong financial controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial governance.

Qualifications and Experience

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial integrations related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
  • Proven experience in leading financial transformation projects, including system upgrades, process improvements, and technology implementation (ERP, financial automation, etc.).
  • Strong track record of successfully managing financial operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, including GAAP/IFRS, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience working with advanced financial systems and tools, such as ERP platforms and financial reporting software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and navigate through periods of change with agility.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
