Our client, a Defence Supplier is looking for a Project Manager to join them on a contract basis at their site in Portsmouth.
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be willing to undergo SC Clearance.
- 50-55 p/h Umbrella, inside IR35.
- 6 month initial contract.
- Hybrid working at their site in Portsmouth, 2-3 times per month on average.
The programme manager will be working in the Training Equipment team with the Training Equipment Lead to manage the programme elements of the service. This will include managing the onboarding of a new Naval school into the programme and supporting on commercial clarification on the contract. It is important that this person has experience of managing complex programme of works and strong stakeholder management skills as this will be a customer facing role.
Skills and Experience
- Experience of managing complex programme and customers
- Relevant, recent demonstrable experience of successful programme execution in a highly regulated and/or controlled environment
- A self-starting and capable manager, able to effect change through the matrix organisation, even where direct hierarchical control does not exist
- Supportive, with the character to navigate sensitive and pressurised situations to overcome delivery challenges
- Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding
- Drive to create change and continuously improve performance
- Creative and open to innovation in order to solve problems
Desirable
- Experience of working on Jira
- Experience of working in MOD and/or training
- Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience
- Interested in continuous professional development of self and others
Responsibilities
- Responsible for programme delivery in Training Equipment
- Responsible for managing the programme finances and governance
- Responsible for escalations and customer interface
- Working with customers and suppliers in joint management boards
- Implement PMX best practice and manage by example to instil flawless programme execution behaviours and processes.
