We are seeking a dedicated Head of Year to join our newly refurbished school. This is a dynamic and varied role, offering the opportunity to make a real impact on student development.

The Role as Head of Year, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning by overseeing the welfare, personal development, and behaviour of students within your allocated year group. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and able to achieve their full potential. Strong communication skills are essential for fostering strong home-school relationships. This position would be well suited to candidates with a strong background within education, family support or social work.

We are seeking a dedicated Head of Year to support student welfare, behaviour, and personal development, ensuring a positive and inclusive school environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a year group, fostering a strong sense of belonging.
  • Address behavioural, pastoral, welfare, and attendance issues to remove barriers to learning.
  • Support and guide Form Tutors in mentoring and discipline.
  • Implement and monitor behaviour and attendance policies.
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies to provide coordinated support.
  • Promote student wellbeing, safeguarding, and academic progress.

About You:

  • Experience in pastoral care, education, or student support.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and statutory requirements.
