I am partnering exclusively with a client of mine, based in Preston, in their search for a HR Manager. In this role you will play a pivotal role in managing all day-to-day HR for the business, covering ER, talent attraction and retention, employee engagement, learning and development, payroll and benefits, as well as driving a high performance culture.

You will be responsible for ensuring the HR strategy aligns to the wider business strategy and will also support the business through a period of transformation.

Below is a breakdown of some of the things you will take responsibility for:

  • Providing HR advice on all HR related matters to employees and Line Managers, in line with company policies and processes, supporting with disciplinaries, grievances and investigations
  • Coaching Managers through performance and absence issues
  • Overseeing the review of HR policies, processes and employee handbook
  • Building effective working relationships across the business and supporting them through a variety of change initiatives
  • Working to enhance current attraction strategies, advising Managers on appropriate recruitment methods, supporting through the process
  • Working with marketing to raise the profile of the employer brand
  • Managing the leaver process - conducting exit interviews, collating and reporting on findings, and implementing appropriate action plans
  • Leading an effective onboarding process for all new starters
  • Developing and implementing a variety of engagement and wellbeing related initiatives
  • Working with Managers to identify training needs and sourcing relevant solutions
  • Preparation of payroll information on a monthly basis and liaising with the external provider
  • Providing help and advice to employees and Managers on all payroll and benefit related queries
  • Overseeing the preparation of all HR documentation as well as maintaining and optimising the HR system

The ideal candidate for this role will have fairly extensive generalist HR experience as well as strong employment law knowledge. Other important qualities for this role include having strong communication skills and the ability to influence others as well as being organised with good time management.
