Temporary Assistant Head of Information Services, PrestonHays Education are looking for a passionate data professional to join our clients' dynamic team to coordinate and manage core data processes, ensuring quality and accuracy. You'll be responsible for producing funding returns for the College, analysing data, and assisting with strategic projects.This is a 12-month fixed term contract within an education setting based in the Preston area, starting in May on a full time basis.Your new role

  • Data Coordination: Oversee data collection and quality processes, ensuring compliance with external requirements and audits.
  • Funding Returns: Collaborate with the Head of Information Services to prepare and submit funding and data returns, meeting all deadlines.
  • Internal Assessments: Lead planning, setup, and reporting for internal assessments.
  • Project Support: Contribute to project delivery, liaising with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
  • Timetable Management: Maintain a central timetable for external returns and reporting, staying ahead of changes and deadlines.
  • System Optimisation: Work with support teams to enhance and implement changes in the use of Management Information (MI) Systems.
  • Request Management: Monitor and address incoming requests, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure timely and accurate processing of data change requests.
  • Report Development: Assist in creating reports using tools like Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Procedure Maintenance: Develop and maintain team procedures and standards.
  • Team Support: Help the team meet key responsibilities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideally, a degree in a related field
  • Proven experience of working with information or data systems, managing and maintaining data
  • Experience in a busy environment, responding positively to challenges
  • Successfully managing own workload and contributing to team success
  • Ideally experience with student record systems
  • Responding to data/report requests
  • Ability to undertake further training and development as required
