Finance Coordinator

West Sussex

£32,000 to £40,000 (DoE)

Insight Executive are partnering with a Commercial Heating Contractor in West Sussex to recruit for a Finance Coordinator as part of their rapid growth and expansion. The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. This is a key role that supports the financial health of the company and requires a candidate with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including all transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
  • Invoicing and Payments: Prepare, issue, and track invoices to clients, manage incoming payments, and ensure timely payment of company bills.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all company accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with VAT returns, tax filings, and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of the company’s annual budget and monitor expenditures to ensure they align with the budget.
  • Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support during financial audits.
  • Communication: Liaise with suppliers, clients, and external accountants as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with construction, mechanical or engineering industry finance is a plus.
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (AAT, IAB, or similar) is mandatory.

Education:

  • A relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (AAT, IAB, or similar) is mandatory.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
