Our client is looking for a new Procurement Director to join their rapidly growing technology manufacturing team. Their products are distributed worldwide and used by most on a day-to-day basis.
This senior leader will manage Procurement, focusing on supply chain strategy, cost reduction, timely deliveries, and building strong supplier relationships.
Procurement Director Job Responsibilities:
Lead the Procurement function, stepping up from the current head role.
Use ERP-based forecasting to ensure accurate and timely supply.
Make daily buying decisions based on orderbook, run rate, and sales forecasts.
Optimise supply chain strategy to enhance quality, price, and supply security.
Strategically purchase stock to meet business demand.
Continuously review and adjust MRP assumptions and methods.
Proactively identify and resolve supply chain or internal process issues.
Analyse and improve purchasing practices and strategies.
Build strong supplier relationships for cost-effective, efficient supply.
Collaborate with supply chain and operational teams to address shortages and ensure seamless transitions in supply issues.
Take full ownership of company purchases and joint responsibility for OTIF performance.
Occasionally expected to travel to visit suppliers.
Procurement Director Required Attributes:
Proven, evident history within strategic purchasing.
Experience in contract negotiation.
Solid ERP/MRP processes and systems.
Experience within Technology manufacturing/ assembly is essential.
Well versed in CIPS, tooling, capacity and varying prices is desirable.
