Join one of England’s oldest and most distinguished independent, co-educational boarding and day schools, located at the foot of the Mendip Hills. We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our HR function, providing comprehensive, operational HR advice and support across the entire employee lifecycle.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with line managers to manage the HR function, ensuring effective HR advice and support is provided.
  • Lead HR projects identified as priorities, including change management programs and other HR initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and statutory guidance relating to HR.
  • Supported by an HR Assistant, oversee the delivery of administration tasks associated with the HR function.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an HR generalist role with the ability to lead an HR function.
  • Strong, practical, and applied knowledge of employment law.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of staff and explain advice in an accessible way.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of core Microsoft programmes.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Experience of HR within education will be an advantage.

Contractual Details:
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus 8 days public bank holidays.
