Fleet Manager | Ramsgate | Up to £65,000 | Hybrid

The Opportunity:

Ford and Stanley Talent Services Group are proud to be partnered with a leading business in the Rail industry on the recruitment of a Fleet Manager in Ramsgate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring a fresh pair of eyes to a very successful operation to innovate ideas for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the Mainline fleet portfolio, ensuring workstreams are prioritized and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee Engineering Changes via the tracker, chair meetings, and ensure critical changes progress on time.
  • Ensure outstanding actions and caveats from Engineering Changes are closed within acceptable timeframes.
  • Lead or attend meetings regarding fleet development, representing the business at RoSCo and Supplier meetings.
  • Act as a Competent Person, approving Engineering Changes as part of the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Ensure fleet development affecting safety, performance, or reliability is managed to reduce risks.
  • Support the team with technical investigations, improving reliability through modern replacement materials.
  • Regularly report fleet development progress to the business and communicate recovery strategies when targets are compromised.
  • Lead technical investigations, providing reports and recommendations as needed.
  • Provide on-call support when required.

Candidate Essentials

  • Knowledge and experience of working in the Rail and Rolling Stock industry.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and developing a team.
  • Experience of working in an engineering position.
  • A self-starter, who can lead with autonomy with the ability to work with initiative.
