Location: Hybrid - Reading area 2 days per week

We are looking for capable and credible Senior Commercial Professionals who can navigate the world of Private Commercial Enterprise across Global FTSE 250 businesses and SME's who focus on Manufacturing. You will need strategic knowledge of Procurement across Private, Public and Government Contract regulations. Working closely with Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Defence.

SC Clearance will be needed to obtain this role and it would be of great benefit if you were already security cleared.

Key Requirement:

Working to Commercial Strategy lead there are three vacancies with each embedded in one of the operations teams below:

Testing Programme

  • Deliver commercial strategy for £bn R&D programme with first of a kind products

Manufacturing Capability Programme

  • Deliver Make/Buy Assessment and commercial strategy for new capability requirements

Construction Programme

  • Create new alliance or enterprise partnership to deliver £3-£4bn programme over 15 year period

The Commercial Managers will report into Commercial Strategy Lead and develop solutions aligned to needs of Head of Strategic Sourcing

  • Commercial Acumen - experienced in translating business needs into a commercial strategy and deep understanding of core commercial risks
  • Experience - Must have experience of complex commercial strategies in excess of £500m in either a construction/infrastructure projects or major complex programmes (e.g defence or rail project)
  • Leadership & Influence - must have core skills to produce effective strategy documents, present to C-suite executive and influence decision making
  • Data led - have ability to review and analysis business and commercial data to create insightful recommendations
