About the Job:

This HR Manager role requires a strategic, hands-on professional to lead the HR function, supporting senior leaders in creating a motivated, flexible, and effective workforce. You will be responsible for designing and delivering HR strategies, providing advice on HR policies, and overseeing recruitment, staffing, and attendance management. You will also be responsible for the HR Assistant and HR Administrator.

Duties will include:

  • Leading a solution-focused HR function aligned with the school's strategic objectives.
  • Providing expert HR advice to the Headteacher and leadership teams on staffing matters.
  • Managing staff recruitment, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and employment standards.
  • Supporting line managers in performance management, including appraisals and probation reviews.
  • Leading on staff well-being initiatives and absence management.

About the Successful Applicant:

The ideal candidate will be CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards it), with strong generalist HR experience. You will have a solid understanding of employment law and possess excellent communication skills. Experience in education is desirable but not essential. The ability to work independently, handle complex employee relations, and demonstrate empathy are key qualities for success in this role.
