Technical Author (Nuclear) – 6-Month Contract – Onsite – Reading – SC Cleared - Outside IR35

VIQU have partnered with a leading organisation within the nuclear sector, seeking a Technical Author with electrical engineering expertise to support critical projects on a contract basis.

The Role:

The successful Technical Author will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for electrical engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. You will work closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure documentation meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Author (Nuclear) within the electrical engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and terminology.
  • Experience developing user guides, manuals, and technical documentation for engineering projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers and technical teams to gather and interpret information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD tools for documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to create diagrams, charts, and visual aids to support technical content.
  • Experience ensuring Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) are maintained and updated.
  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance, or preferably hold valid SC Clearance.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and technical communication tools.
