My client, a nationally recognised team of charity lawyers, provides expert legal advice to over 500 charities, not-for-profits, and social enterprises across England and Wales. They pride themselves on delivering a comprehensive service that addresses every aspect of their clients’ legal needs.The Role:My client is seeking a Senior Charities Lawyer with around 10 years PQE, currently operating at Legal Director or Partner level, to lead their Charities practice in their Reading office. In this pivotal role, you will manage and mentor a dedicated charities team while providing top tier legal advice to a well established and loyal client base. Your expertise will help shape the Charities practice and contribute to the firm’s overall success.What They’re Looking For:
  • A solid background in the not-for-profit sector, with a proven track record both as a legal professional and in the marketplace.
  • Experience advising on trading company start-ups, structuring charities, and incorporating social enterprises.
  • Comfort with navigating reorganisations and providing commercial and legal guidance to trusts, associations, Charitable Incorporated Organisations, and Community Benefit Societies.
  • Substantial experience with Charity Commission issues, member and trustee matters, and trading and income generation.
  • Experience advising schools, including academy conversions and structures.
