Paralegal - Child Care Team
  • Job Type: Contract (3 months with possibility of extension)

We are excited to announce that we are seeking several dedicated Paralegals to join our client's Child Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a significant impact in legal services, particularly in the area of childcare proceedings. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support solicitors with care proceedings by drafting various legal documents such as C110A, C2 Applications, Consent forms, Letters of Instruction, and Briefs to Counsel.
  • Manage case matters efficiently on the Family Public Law Portal (FPL), Iken, and Caselines.
  • Attend Advocates meetings and Pre-Hearing Discussions to ensure thorough preparation and effective case management.
  • Request disclosure from police, schools, and health authorities as required.
  • Handle private matters related to adoption, S.7 and S.37 reports, maintaining direct contact with Social Workers (SWs) and courts regarding case progress.
  • Ensure the secure collection and return of IT equipment for remote working arrangements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A good general education with at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Previous experience in a local government or legal services setting is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable ability to handle complex legal matters and a willingness to engage in departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent IT skills with the capability to use technology to enhance performance.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to provide clear advice and undertake effective advocacy.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet service needs.
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work confidently and unsupervised on matters within your competence.
