We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Reading, supporting students with additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they are engaged and making progress.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans, adapting lesson materials, and offering differentiated support.
  • Help manage classroom behavior, promoting positive learning behaviors and supporting students in maintaining focus.
  • Support students with emotional and social challenges, encouraging their development in a safe and nurturing setting.
  • Assist in preparing learning resources and classroom activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
  • Supervise students during break times, lunchtime, and other non-classroom activities as required.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, in a classroom setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, patient approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
