Location: Holmfirth, HD9 (initially) with travel to Middlesbrough, TS10 for installation support
- Travel expenses covered for site-to-site travel.
Contract Duration: Approx 4 months with scope for additional work
Company Overview:
Our client is a leading provider of electrical solutions, specializing in high-quality switchgear and control panel systems. They are currently seeking experienced Panel Wirers with a switchgear background to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work across two sites, contributing to the assembly and wiring of control panels before they are delivered and installed at customer locations.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the wiring and modification of electrical panels at the Holmfirth site, ensuring they are built to specification before being transported to the Middlesbrough site for installation. While installation and commissioning are not part of this role, the Panel Wirer will support the project by carrying out necessary modifications and ensuring the panels are fully prepared for final deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels in line with technical schematics.
- Work specifically with switchgear components, ensuring proper layout and wiring.
- Perform modifications and upgrades to panel wiring based on requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections to meet high standards and compliance regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and wiring modifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Assist with panel transportation to the Middlesbrough site.
- Provide on-site support (without direct involvement in installation or commissioning).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in panel wiring within a switchgear environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and switchgear components.
- Ability to modify and upgrade panels as per engineering and client requirements.
- Experience working with busbar systems and control panel components.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and electrical safety standards.
- Skilled in using hand tools, testing equipment, and soldering tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot wiring issues.
- Willingness to travel to Middlesbrough for project support (expenses covered).
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing switchgear setting.
- Full, clean driving license (preferred for site travel).
