Our client is seeking an Account Handler to join their dynamic team based in Retford. The office is conveniently located, easily accessible via public transport, close to the train station, and offers plenty of parking.

The Role: Account Handler

As an Account Handler, you will provide professional advice and service to clients, effectively manage policy events, and ensure all customers are treated fairly and professionally. You’ll work to retain existing customers, secure new business, and deliver exceptional customer service while driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop tailored solutions, pricing, and placement strategies to meet clients’ needs and secure profitable business.
  • Offer quality service by reviewing, advising, and arranging appropriate insurance cover at competitive premiums.
  • Review and manage policy and client information, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues, taking remedial action where necessary.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, prospects, insurers, and industry professionals to maximize opportunities.
  • Stay informed about market, regulatory, and political changes, advising clients accordingly.
  • Place commercial lines business in approved markets, ensuring client needs are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurers and uphold a profile within the insurance market.
Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C), including English and Maths.
  • Experience within the UK insurance market, with an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of General Commercial classes of business.
  • Strong client service and administrative skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and operational experience with Acturis.
