Service Manager required for my client who work within the food processing and packaging machinery industry, based in Rochester, Kent.
The successful Service Manager will be responsible for the development & growth of the customer service department and will be a key member of the senior Management team.
Service Manager Position Overview
* Take ownership of the Aftersales / Service department leading a team of Service Engineers and Spares Team members.
* Holding full profit and loss responsibility for the Service department. You will manage budgets/engineering resources with a strategic approach to developing additional revenue across service contracts, spares & consumables.
* You will liaise with the sales team on new orders/installations and provide estimates on logistics and allocate engineering resources.
* Will be required to visit customer site occasionally.
* Regular service meeting with the engineers to keep up with current service visits or breakdown.
* Preparing and sending quotes for service calls where necessary. Obtaining PO numbers prior to booking works.
* Programme the works for our engineers, taking into consideration job urgency, location, travel time and skills and parts needed.
Service Manager Position Requirements
* Manufacturing industry experience with a proven track record of managing budgets across a Service function.
* Experience working with Multihead Weighers, VFFS, HFFS, Metal Detectors/Checkweighers preferable.
* Mechanically biased Engineer with experience in managing, mentoring, supporting, and leading a service and maintenance team.
* Good understanding of industrial processes, manufacturing, and automated production within the food industry.
* Based within a commutable distance of Rochester, Kent.
Service Manager Position Remuneration
* Salary package commensurate with experience with a negotiable salary + expenses.
* Full time position.
* 25 days paid leave plus statutory holidays.
