Payroll Administrator - Leading independent Accountancy Practice

Salary: £32,500 - £37,500

Are you a self-motivated, hardworking, ambitious person looking for a new challenge? AJ Chambers are supporting a Leading independent Accountancy Practice in their need for a payroll administrator.

The payroll administrator is a key member of their small payroll team and reports directly up to the payroll manager. The purpose of the role is to process client payrolls end to end. You will work to tight deadlines and be able to effectively communicate to clients.

Other duties include:

  • Processing Clients Payroll
  • Processing BACS payments
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with clients liaising on payroll, employment and other matters, resolving client queries promptly
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll matters and including current legislation
  • Conducting compliance checks on a regular basis
  • Processing starters, leavers, holiday pay, pension deductions using SMP/SPP/ SAP and SSP etc
  • Issuing P45’s, P60’s etc
  • Liaising with HMRC both in writing and on the telephone
  • Calculation of tax and NIC contributions
  • Dealing with auto enrolment, maintaining pension scheme records, schedules and payments
  • Carry out RTI submissions and CIS returns
  • Setting up and closing PAYE schemes
  • Maintaining accurate and concise record systems
  • Recording of time accurately on timesheets
