Job Advert – Managing Quantity Surveyor Location: WarwickshireJob Title: Managing Quantity SurveyorStart Date: ASAPContract: Permanent Pay Rate: £65,000 - £90,000 per year About the Role: An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial performance of multiple projects (or one large-scale project) for a Client in West Midlands. This role requires strong leadership to manage teams, drive financial success, and maintain key stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will ensure effective cost management, procurement strategies, and project delivery while mentoring a team of surveyors.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the commercial performance of assigned projects, ensuring financial success.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing performance management and guidance.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for subcontractors, optimizing value and mitigating risks.
  • Manage Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports, project forecasts, and risk assessments.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to manage commercial aspects proactively.
  • Work closely with project teams to maximize project margins and value engineering opportunities.
  • Review contract terms and conditions to ensure favorable commercial outcomes and manage risks.
  • Support work-winning and tendering processes, ensuring strong subcontractor engagement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive experience in quantity surveying and commercial project management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven track record in cost management, procurement, and contract negotiation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, construction law, and risk management.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive resolution.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client and consultant relationships.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and developing junior staff.
