Job description

Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Account Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organisation. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes.

Duties

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Process accounts payable, including verifying invoices, preparing payments, and reconciling statements.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare necessary reports for management review.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding account discrepancies or payment issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency within the department.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies regarding data protection.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Account Clerk or in a similar accounting role is preferred.
  • Sage 50 experience
  • General Admin duties
  • Purchase ledger
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
