We are looking for a Junior Project Planner with a strong understanding of infrastructure type projects through the design, construction and commissioning phases. The Junior Project Planner will develop a deep understanding of a programme of works that is associated with building a nationwide fibre network and will assist with the development and maintenance of programmes, supporting the business in delivering projects on time and to budget.

Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Understand project requirements and assist in building project programmes, considering budget and time constraints.
  • Update and maintain project programmes, collecting periodic progress updates through interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the project team in driving project delivery according to the programme and business requirements.
  • Assist in keeping projects on track by identifying critical activities and evaluating remedial actions.
  • Prepare and update progress reports. Prepare reports as required (weekly, monthly, 4-week look ahead etc.)
  • Attend internal meetings, and client meetings as required, to support the project team with programme related matters.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external teams.

Profile

Skills & Experience

  1. MS Project, Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject experience
  2. At least 3 years' experience in an infrastructure sector e.g. construction, rail, telecoms, water, nuclear.
  3. Experience or understanding of commercial, contract and project management.
  4. Experience or understanding of:
    • Design, engineering assurance and construction; (essential)
    • Engineering / infrastructure / street works legislation and standards; (essential)
    • Cost and commercial management; (essential)
    • Risk management; (essential)
    • Information management. (essential)
    • Asset management.
    • Experience of or ability to deal with projects that impact on the general public and other stakeholders.
  5. Experience of or ability to compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports.
