We are looking for a highly motivated Production Manager to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field. An exciting opportunity for a skilled Production Manager to join a well-established company and Production team. As Production Manager, you will be tasked with the running and continuous improvement of the Production Department. You will be a strong man-manager with a comprehensive production background within a manufacturing/production environment. This role will appeal to an autonomous individual with a comprehensive idea of how to run a successful Production team within a pressurised environment. This position will appeal to a strong manager looking for their next challenging role within a secure and stable company.

Role Description -

  • Implement and control production schedule; review and adjust the schedule where needed
  • Co-ordinate the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to meet delivery schedule and to complete assigned jobs
  • Determine the materials and human resources required
  • Liaise with Branch Manager regarding stock levels in order for purchase order to be raised
  • Ensure all work entered into production follows the order entry standards and procedure
  • Organise staff and distribute the workload, ensuring that production is cost effective
  • Monitor production and quality control, to detect and correct problems, to ensure products are produced on time and are of good quality
  • Determine and implement improvements to production process
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure implementation and Production team adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Maintain production control records and provide information to sales representatives, finance, customer and management with regards to delivery, dates, schedules and operating problems
  • Oversee all staff scheduling, working hours, overtime and time off requests
  • Supervising and motivating production team members
  • Monitor and review the performance of Production team staff via day today supervision and organise necessary interventions for improvement
  • Identifying training needs
  • Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management
  • Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules
  • Comply with the company's policies and procedures as set out within the employee handbook, Accreditation's manual (including Best Practice Quality Guide) and Health and Safety Manual, as updates from time to time.
  • Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the company's Integrated Management Systems (currently comprising of the Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and the Health and Safety Management System), as updated from time to time
  • Comply with the requirements of any core duties or other relevant procedural or policy document applicable to your role
  • Undertake any other duties within his/her competence or otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required

Qualifications/Experience -

    • Degree - Engineering Discipline
    • Production manager background
    • Glass/Fenestration industry experience
    • Project management and planning skills
