Position: Electrical Estimator
Location: Salford
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join a successful M&E estimating/procurement department at a leading contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- M&E background with an electrical bias.
- Experience and knowledge of estimating software.
- Leverage your understanding of the local supply chain.
- Read and take off drawings using software like Bluebeam.
- Review, analyse, and comment on cost plans based on high-level design information.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Engage in procurement of supplier and subcontractor packages.
- Communicate effectively and negotiate with the supply chain.
- Understand D&B contracts and prioritise health & safety.
- Collaborate within a close-knit team of M&E professionals.
- Report to the Managing Surveyor/Commercial Manager.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Minimum qualification: HNC, HND level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Xtreme Estimating) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the local supply chain is beneficial.
