Working for an established Ramsgate-based manufacturer, as Buyer you will join a team to focus on purchasing of components whilst ensuring import/export procedures are carried out in accordance with regulations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate with suppliers and internal customers to obtain quotations and breakdown of costs.
  2. Raising of PO's and PR's
  3. Generation of RFI, RFP and RFQ's including cost breakdown
  4. Negotiation of price and delivery
  5. Analysis of quotations and analysis.
  6. Resolution of Invoice queries.
  7. Supplier performance monitoring.
  8. Purchasing Reports.
  9. Order progression

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience within an Engineering procurement environment.
  • Experience of operating in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience of Exporting and Importing goods.
  • Effective at dealing with complex issues containing numerous variables.
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge of, or exposure to, engineering terminology and methodology.
  • Knowledge of, or exposure to, multiple process operations.
  • Knowledge of working with MRP generated PO's as well as stand-alone requisitions.
