An established Ramsgate-based manufacturer is seeking a Buyer to join their team, focusing on the purchasing of components while ensuring compliance with import/export regulations.
The position offers a competitive salary along with 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, free secure parking, a reward and recognition scheme, and private insurance.
Candidates should have experience within an Engineering procurement environment and be adept at operating in a fast-paced, rapidly changing setting.
Key responsibilities include communicating with suppliers, raising purchase orders, negotiating prices, and monitoring supplier performance.
Applicants must have prior experience in exporting and importing goods, along with excellent negotiation skills and commercial awareness.

Working for an established Ramsgate-based manufacturer, as Buyer you will join a team to focus on purchasing of components whilst ensuring import/export procedures are carried out in accordance with regulations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Communicate with suppliers and internal customers to obtain quotations and breakdown of costs.
Raising of PO's and PR's
Generation of RFI, RFP and RFQ's including cost breakdown
Negotiation of price and delivery
Analysis of quotations and analysis.
Resolution of Invoice queries.
Supplier performance monitoring.
Purchasing Reports.
Order progression

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience within an Engineering procurement environment.
Experience of operating in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
Experience of Exporting and Importing goods.
Effective at dealing with complex issues containing numerous variables.
Excellent negotiating skills
Commercial awareness.
Knowledge of, or exposure to, engineering terminology and methodology.
Knowledge of, or exposure to, multiple process operations.
Knowledge of working with MRP generated PO's as well as stand-alone requisitions.
