SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a named student in a warm and welcoming school in Sandwich, Kent.

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with a named student to provide tailored support, helping them to access learning activities and achieve their potential.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Support the student with both academic and social development in a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Use your creativity, patience, and enthusiasm to inspire confidence and engagement in their learning journey.

This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a strong commitment to inclusion.

What We’re Looking For
  • Prior experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 capacity (preferred but not essential).
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to undertake one).
