With a strong reputation in the industry, they specialise in Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) ranging from 100kWh to 20MWh, providing behind-the-meter solutions to support energy cost reduction, ESG targets, decarbonisation, grid resilience, and microgrid applications.
The Role:
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of BESS projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery storage solutions, electrical engineering, or electrical contracting. This role requires commercial acumen, expertise in contract negotiations and dispute resolution, and a deep understanding of industry-standard contract forms such as JCT, FIDIC, and NEC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage BESS projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and cost control.
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure technical compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
- Manage contractual and commercial aspects of projects, including negotiation, variation management, and dispute resolution.
- Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and commercial teams, to drive project success.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution and commercial strategies.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in Project Management within Battery Storage, Renewable Energy, or Electrical Contracting.
- Strong technical knowledge of BESS, microgrids, and energy storage solutions.
- Background in electrical engineering or electrical contracting.
- Extensive experience in commercial negotiations, contract management, and dispute resolution.
- In-depth understanding of JCT, FIDIC, and NEC forms of contract.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, APM).
- Knowledge of grid integration, energy storage technologies, and renewable energy markets.
- Experience working with behind-the-meter energy solutions.
