With a strong reputation in the industry, they specialise in Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) ranging from 100kWh to 20MWh, providing behind-the-meter solutions to support energy cost reduction, ESG targets, decarbonisation, grid resilience, and microgrid applications.

The Role:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of BESS projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery storage solutions, electrical engineering, or electrical contracting. This role requires commercial acumen, expertise in contract negotiations and dispute resolution, and a deep understanding of industry-standard contract forms such as JCT, FIDIC, and NEC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage BESS projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and cost control.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure technical compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Manage contractual and commercial aspects of projects, including negotiation, variation management, and dispute resolution.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and commercial teams, to drive project success.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution and commercial strategies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Project Management within Battery Storage, Renewable Energy, or Electrical Contracting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of BESS, microgrids, and energy storage solutions.
  • Background in electrical engineering or electrical contracting.
  • Extensive experience in commercial negotiations, contract management, and dispute resolution.
  • In-depth understanding of JCT, FIDIC, and NEC forms of contract.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, APM).
  • Knowledge of grid integration, energy storage technologies, and renewable energy markets.
  • Experience working with behind-the-meter energy solutions.
