Job Title: Site Manager - Refit Project

Location: Seaham

Reports to: Project Manager / Construction Manager

Project Length - 4 to 6 months.

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee and manage a refit project. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all on-site activities, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of refit projects, as well as expertise in managing teams, subcontractors, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Management: Supervise and manage all site activities for refit projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the refit project is progressing according to the agreed schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Team Supervision: Manage and lead the on-site construction team, including subcontractors, laborers, and other site personnel. Ensure team members are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards and in line with project specifications.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise on-site.
  • Material & Resource Management: Oversee the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring that everything is on-site when needed and is handled properly.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, progress reports, and safety documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise on-site, including technical, logistical, and personnel challenges.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring that the project stays within budget and meets deadlines.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager, or similar role, particularly on refit or renovation projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, and project delivery methods.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to site challenges.
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card and SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification are highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

Pay rate:

  • Between £255 - £290 per day (day rate), paid via CIS.
  • Weekly pay, paid every Friday for the hours worked the week before.

Working hours

  • Monday to Friday, no weekends are required.
